In September 2006, a German student aroused a lot of confusion when he dressed as a terracotta warrior and hid between the original figures in the museum so that security could not find him. An amateur cameraman caught these moments on tape. View the video here.

This link shows the work on the torso details of a life-size figure. Moreover, it shows the making of a small 30cm statue. Please notice that the production of a life-scale warrior is much more difficult and detailed.

History Course

These Chinese documentaries with English subtitles tell about the army of Qin, the art of warfare, transport and infrastructure and the production of weapons more than 2000 years ago. It includes highly interesting information of the high stage of development that was achieved in such early times.

The Army

This episode is split into 5 parts and deals with the history of the Qin army up to its unification of China.

The Weapons of the Army

The production of weapons was already highly advanced in the Qin Empire. The level of accuracy and precision in production could not be reached by its rivals building the basis for the army’s strength and, therefore, for the unification of China.

Warfare

The third part of this documentary deals with the strategic importance of the different troops within the Qin army. In addition, it takes you to the biggest battlefield back then and offers information on how war was conducted in China 2000 years ago.

Transport

The last episode of the documentary shows how the big infrastructural projects on land- and waterways were carried out in order to protect the newly conquered areas. Furthermore, it puts a focus on the construction of the Great Wall, yet another symbol of the Qin Dynasty.
